Do you think any company making huge money (like MasterCard) off these transactions just decides one day to pull the plug off their cash cow because it may be immoral or borderline illegal? No way! It is because the government is placing heat on them to stop the transactions or else.

Very simply put the government has little chance at shaking down these online gaming companies through taxation, fines or fees and they feel that if people gamble over the net it takes away from their opportunity to earn. State lotteries are a great example of the government earn. Years ago it was called policy or "the number," when the mob was in charge of it. After the gov't found out how much these guys where making on the street, they decided to get in the racket for themselves.

This is and always will be one of the most lucrative shakedowns in this society. In a pick three lottery the true odds on a number coming up are 1000-1 and the state run lotteries pay 1/2 that amount back to the players. A 50% hold... I cannot think of any form of gambling that has more of a hold or pays less to the players then that.

I find it hard to believe that there are buildings and memorials dedicated to J. Edgar Hoover. This is the guy who took payoffs in the form of tips at the racetrack to publicly deny any Mafia existence. What about the beloved Kennedy boys? After old man Kennedy used his clout in the underworld to get his son elected to be our 35th President. The Kennedy's turned there back on the mob (and paid for it with their lives) in the end anyone with a brain knows who the real mob is.
