Online Gambling.
In one sentence I tell you, "Play at games that offer the lowest house vig," and then I show you systems on playing the outside bets of a Roulette table...
...where the vig is 5.26% and three tables over is a crap game where some bets contain only a 1.51 % bite for the house. It is my humble opinion that too much emphasis is put on vigs in gambling and not enough on the real needed items The Big Four and The Little Three. Even with the 5.26% bite, I think
Roulette
is a good game to play, as long as you know how to bet and when to walk. Those things will come in later chapters, but don't be discouraged from playing Roulette.
Let me give you an example by referring to a bet on a baseball game. Roger Clemens of the Boston Red Sox is reigning as one of the top pitchers in baseball. He is practically unbeatable and especially at home in Fenway Park.
Last week he was scheduled to pitch at home against the Detroit Tigers and Jack Morris another good strong pitcher The line was Red Sox 8 9, which means that if you wanted to bet on the Red Sox and Clemens, you had to put up $90 to win $50. 1 considered that an overlay. Clemens should be favored, but in my opinion that was too much to put up.
I did not bet and Clemens won 3 1, but I didn't have any rotten feelings, since I had predetermined that the vig was too heavy for the game. If the game was going to be played in Detroit, the line might have been Red Sox 51/2 61/2 or maybe "Pick Em." Then I would have bet Clemens.
Get to understand the true meaning of vig and set amounts you will fight in the game you decide to play, whether it be Roulette, Baccarat,
Blackjack
, etc. Vigorish is the edge the house holds, and always will, so if you're gonna gamble, you better realize it's always sitting out there against you. But it can be combated (not reduced) by intelligent play, super
Money Management
and gutsy Discipline.
