This is one of the most popular games going today, and offers anybody the chance to win big without having to know too much as far as rules are concerned.
Regardless of if you are at a land based casino or playing online , there is no doubt that you will be able to find the game of roulette.   Even though the game of roulette is not as popular in the United States as it is in Europe, this has no bearing on the online industry.  Roulette was one of the first games to be picked up by online casinos , and since then they have been very popular.

When you are looking for an online roulette wheel to give a whirl, you should keep in mind that a lot of gaming sites offer two different options.  You can either place a bet with a European style wheel that only has one zero, or you can try your luck with an American style wheel that has two zeros. 

When it comes to online roulette, this game is one of the easiest to learn.  There are no complex rules to remember; after you understand the basics, you will be able to quickly place bets without much trouble at all.

The following rules are easy to understand, and anybody can pick up on them in no time at all.  The first thing that you will want to become familiar with is the wheel itself.  On a European style wheel there are 37 numbers including the one zero, and on the American style wheel there are 38 numbers including both zeros. 

As far as bets are concerned, there are a couple of different options that are available to you.  The first type to consider are referred to as outside bets.  These are bets that are not placed on numbers.  They include bets on red or black, low or high, odd or even, and columns or dozens.

To place an outside bet you will first need to learn about what each one consists of.

  • Placing a red or black bet means that you are betting that the ball will stop on either a red or black number.
  • When you place a low or high bet, you are betting on a range of numbers.  For a low bet you win if the ball lands on a number ranging from 1 to 18.  On a high bet you win if the ball lands on a number ranging from 19 to 36.
  • Odd or even bets pretty much speak for themselves.  If you bet even, you will win if the ball lands on an even number; the same rules apply for odd.
  • Betting on columns or dozens means that your bet can be placed on number 1 to 12, 13 to 24, or 25 to 36.  If the ball lands within your number range you win.
As opposed to outside bets, inside bets are thought to be the more standard way of playing.  You can either place a straight up bet where you choose one number, or a split bet that allows you to place a wager on two numbers that are side by side.

By knowing what you are doing, you will increase your chances of winning at the online roulette table.  Even though roulette is pretty much a game of luck, if you at least know the rules you will be able to put yourself in a better position to win.
