Last week, the House Gaming Oversight Committee held a
hearing to take testimony from an industry-paid analyst who spoke on
the positive economic impact of legalizing table games like blackjack
and poker at the state’s slot-machine casinos
Pennsylvania
legalized slot machines back in 2004, and now it is making the next moves: bringing
blackjack
and
poker
to the state.
Under a bill introduced by House Democratic Whip Bill DeWeese of Greene County, licensees at each of the 14 slots sites will soon be able to offer
table games
in return for a $10 million fee.
Twenty-one percent of their revenues will go to the state’s general fund.
Republicans in the state Senate said they will support the plan.
